Plagiarism Policy

Scholastic Open Access is committed to maintaining academic integrity and does not accept manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, or substantial unattributed use of previously published material.

1. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening during the editorial process. Scholastic Open Access currently uses QText as a plagiarism-detection tool to identify substantial textual similarities and potential cases of plagiarism.

2. Editorial Assessment

A similarity report is reviewed by the Editor or Editorial Team. A similarity score alone does not automatically establish plagiarism, as legitimate quotations, references, commonly used terminology, and standard academic expressions may contribute to similarity. Where significant or inappropriate similarity is identified, the authors may be asked to provide an explanation or revise the manuscript.

3. Plagiarism and Unacceptable Similarity

Manuscripts may be rejected if the Editorial Team determines that they contain plagiarism, substantial unattributed copying, duplicate publication, or other forms of inappropriate text reuse. Serious cases may be investigated in accordance with the journal's publication ethics procedures.

4. Plagiarism Identified After Publication

If plagiarism or significant unattributed content is identified after publication, Scholastic Open Access may investigate the matter and take appropriate action, which may include publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction of the article, depending on the seriousness of the issue. Authors remain responsible for ensuring that their submitted work is original and appropriately acknowledges the work of others.
