Publication Criteria

Authors are kindly requested to ensure their manuscript meets the following criteria before submission. Adhering to these guidelines will help facilitate a smooth and timely review process.

General Submission Guidelines

File Format: Submit the manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc/.docx) with a cover letter (details below).

Layout and Font: Use single-column formatting, Cambria font, 10 pt size. Keep the layout simple and consistent.

Equations: Ensure that equations and formulas are clear, preferably created using software such as MathType.

Figures: Submit high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi). All figures should be referenced in-text and listed with captions at the end of the manuscript.

Length: No strict word limit; however, the total page count should not exceed 40 pages.

References: Limit references to a maximum of 50. Use in-text numerical citations and format the reference list according to MLA style.

Figures/Tables/Graphs: Limit to a combined total of 15.

Cover Letter Requirements

The corresponding author must submit a signed cover letter including:

• Statement of the manuscript’s suitability for Scholastic Open Access.
• Confirmation that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
• Names and signatures of all authors.
• If the author is a student, departmental approval is required prior to submission.

Manuscript Structure and Formatting

• Title: Specific and relevant. Avoid abbreviations. Use title case. Italicize species/botanical names.
• Author Details: Provide full names. Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*) and include full contact details (Email, Tel, Fax, Affiliation with Department, Institution, City, State, Country).
• Abstract: Max 350 words. No citations or abbreviations. Provide 4–6 keywords for indexing.
• Abbreviations: List and define all abbreviations used.
• Headings: Use appropriate, numbered headings.
• Units and Symbols: Follow SI Units. Use standard Greek letters and mathematical symbols where applicable.
• Figures: Insert figure placeholders in text and list captions at the end. Ensure permission for any copyrighted images.
• Tables: Include at the end with appropriate captions.
• Acknowledgements: Mention contributions from non-authors with their consent.
• References: Use only published sources, formatted in MLA style, numbered and cited sequentially in-text.
